Raiding

Last night a new raid system was announced, the Flexible Raid. You can click the link for the full post, but here are the main points:

Some people missed the "raid plan this week" posts at the end of the "Extending the Lockout" thread, so I decided to make a new one! Back on the old forums we had a thread that was updated every week. We haven't needed that yet on the new one, but there also wasn't as many options for what to do at first. So lots of talking, on to the point!

Here he is, the final boss of the Throne! Lei Shen, the Thunder King! It looks to be a truly fantastic fight with many ways to die horribly.

I'm inclined to do the same as Fatboss did. Blow up the East Chain Lightning conduit in phase 1 and level up the South Static Shock pillar in phase 2.

This thread on EJ, multiple WoW forum posts and tweets from Ghostcrawler seem to indicate addon sounds rarely or never play properly in raids after the 5.3 patch.

If you don't have this add on... please get it! There is NO way you will EVER stand in crap again or your ears will bleed. We had way too many deaths to standing in stuff last night and this will REALLY help.

Hey Guys

I figured I would start a thread on Thursday to see who needs what bosses. I would love to get some of our new members some loot but I know folks need specific bosses for weapons, shields etc. I am mostly in need of rep and secrets which I can get off LFR as well as Normal but don't need much from early bosses. I mostly just want to smash some stuff. I'm happy to swap out with Aanvil or Muta on bosses but perhaps we can start a thread on which bosses you REALLY want in on. I'd love to see folks get their loot and not be subject to bad roll RNG.

Thoughts?

Just read the Forums and see that they announced that 5.3 will be this Tuesday :)

I don't have much for this boss. Frankly they seem really easy. Oh we'll probably wipe to some stuff here and there, especially in the "Dusk" phase, but I think we can get 'em down in one night.

There seems to be very little specific strategy. It's almost all "don't stand in bad stuff." We'll see how it goes! Feel free to post any thoughts you might have anyway!

Overall this boss seems fairly simple and will mostly be a healing and DPS check. I hear it's possible to single-tank this just like Durumu, but I'm not sure if we'll do that. Probably easier that way. Oh well. Anyway!
