Raiding

We're likely to kill Garalon and be facing this guy tonight or Monday. Skarn has some good ideas on CC that might be different from this, I forgot what he was talking about doing. Mass Dispell is going to be nice for this. This one shouldn't take us too many pulls.

Lots and lots of adds. Whenever a group of adds dies, Mel'jarak's damage done increases by 50% and his damage taken increases by 33%.

We were talking in Vent last night about what to do with those bloods we are collecting. In looking at my gear the chest is a HUGE upgrade for me and I'd love to craft it. I'm sure others also have big upgrades as well. Perhaps we put in for who wants to craft them and then do a random roll or something to que people.

It's halfway through December and we only have 3 raid days left this year! We will not be holding raids on Monday, Dec 24 or Monday, Dec 31. Trying to raid on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve is a bad idea for many reasons! :) That leaves us just three days:

Thursday, Dec 27

The question is: What do you want to do? Would you like to do a couple "farm" nights in Mogu'shan Vaults? Or focus just on Heart of Fear progression?

We made some progress on this. Challenges include kiting, reliably handing off pheromones, and beating the enrage timer. I'd look at moving to 4 kiters and putting some healers into the kiting rotation. Put some ranged solely on Garalon after the first leg dies with cleaving melee focused on legs, balance this so that they're constantly killing legs.

This is an "official" notice that Monday raids will likely NOT start right at 8:30 most weeks. This is because a couple raid members run a bit late due to family obligations. Kulgarr has to pick up his son from hockey practice right around 8:30. Also, I have some family stuff going on too right before raids on Mondays. That started last week and is indefinite, but is fun. :) When exactly I'm done with that can vary, but should be between 8:45-9:00. Thus, raid start time on Mondays should not be later than 9:00.

I don't know how many of you follow the progress races over at Manaflask and WowProgress. It's a lot of fun to follow the super-hardcore guilds who clear heroic modes in a single week.

That said, I think it's also pretty cool to watch the progress that is a little more relevant to us. For example, we are intentionally set up as a pretty time constricted raid group. We took a long time to get geared up, and everyone but Skarn takes nights off (Thanks Skarn!). But once we're there I think we are a pretty solid raid group for about 6 hours every week.

While talking with a couple raid members last night, it was suggested that we extend the raid lockout on Vaults this week. I like the idea and think we should do it.

I've been able to do four Challenge Mode runs so far and I think they are a lot of fun! They are also a very good source of Valor, once we get good at them. If you haven't been on a run yet (or even if you have) here are some things you should know.

They are hard. There is a big difficulty jump from the Heroic versions! In fact, of the four runs I've done, we only finished two of them! And that one was the same instance, Gate of the Setting Sun. In Niuzao Temple, we got stuck on the second boss. In Shado Pan Monastery, we were stuck on the third. Trash is no joke either!
